When we go about our daily work and are busy achieving our goals, we come across many situations and people who influence our ability to progress. Most of the time we are unaware of those influences but can often feel ‘stuck’ or become negative about what we are trying to achieve.
This meditation will allow you to cut the ties between you and whatever you feel is preventing you from progress. Ties between people, situations or other blocks including past lives can be cut and you will feel free to move forward. It can also be used for the animals we come across whether we are treating them with Reiki or we just feel that they need some help.
Before the Meditation – Energy & Protection
Everything in the physical world is made up of energy and information. Energy vibrates at different frequencies but we are unable to see this energy but can often feel it.
For example, when you walk into a room and it feels like you can ‘cut the atmosphere with a knife’, this is referred to as negative energy. Likewise, if you go to a party, you will feel the excitement – the positive energy.
In the same way, when we open up our energy centres in Reiki energy healing, meditation, prayer, visualisation or working with crystals, we are attracting energy vibrations to us (negative as well as positive). It is therefore necessary that we protect ourselves from the negative energy.
Grounding
Grounding is important to perform before you start to meditate as meditation will take you into a higher energy and when you finish, if you have not grounded yourself you might experience a floating feeling, feel drained or emotional (similar to a healing curve) as you have opened yourself up to other’s negativity.
To ground yourself, take three depth breaths, sitting with feet firmly on the ground and visualise that there are roots extending from the bottom of your feet. They are growing down through the floor, through the earth and right down through to the centre of the earth to ensure that you are fully grounded. To test your grounding, try to lift one foot from the floor. If you find this difficult, you know you have grounded yourself correctly.
Protection
Now that you have grounded yourself, it is helpful to protect yourself against any negativity that you might attract as you move into the higher energy. You can do this through visualisation.
Visualisation
Visualise yourself standing in your energy bubble (white – the colour of divine protection or pink – the colour of unconditional love) and know that nothing can penetrate this bubble only divine white light and unconditional love.
An Invocation
It is helpful to say the following invocation before starting the meditation:
‘I thank the Universe for protecting me with divine pure white light. I ask that you remove me from all negative vibrations and send them out into the Universe to be dissolved without harm to any living thing. In love, light and healing, I thank you.’
Now you can begin cutting the ties.
Cutting Ties Meditation
1. Close your eyes and just notice your breathing as you inhale and exhale. Just be aware of your breathing.
2. Now start to breathe more deeply.
3. As you inhale visualise pure white light entering your body through your Crown Chakra and as you exhale, visualise the pure white light filling your body and cleansing you physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
4. As you become aware of the pure cleansing white light filling your body, start to visualise the person or situation that is causing you concern.
5. As soon as you have the image, start to send healing energy and love to the situation or person from your Heart Chakra and flood the person or situation with divine love and light.
6. Visualise a connection to the situation or person with a cord from your Solar Plexus and then visualise a pair of scissors that you will use to cut the connection between you and the situation or person. When you are ready call on Archangel Michael (assisting us with protection) to help you cut the ties with your scissors. This will free all involved of any negativity whether with past life issues or any other problems.
7. Once you have cut the ties, allow the person or situation to fade and take a few deep breaths and begin to refocus on your breathing until your mind is clear.
8. When you are ready, open your eyes and know that you have successfully cut the ties and can now move forward.
If you have more people or situations that you want to cut ties with, repeat steps 4 to 8 for each and every one that you want to release.
