Mindful Reiki – Being in the Present Moment
My Definition of Mindfulness:
‘A state of mind where you focus on the present moment at the same time noticing your senses; sights, sounds, smells, feelings and thoughts but letting them pass by like clouds.’
Being in the Present Moment
Originating from ancient Buddhist practice, being in the present moment is about controlling the focus of your attention. Not thinking about what happened before you started your Reiki or worrying about what you are going to do after your Reiki. Simply just being in the moment.
When you are fully in the present moment, you can enjoy what you are doing there and then, being relaxed, calm and totally focused on your Reiki, moment by moment, as simple as breathing.
When you are out and about endeavour to continue to ‘just be’ in the present moment – it will help you to remain relaxed and prevent stress in your life.
Mindful Reiki
If your mind is filled with scattered thoughts, good and bad before and during a Reiki treatment, how can you be a clear positive channel for the Reiki energy?
You should be totally focused on the Reiki energy with the intention of pure healing energy passing through you to your human or animal client.
The same when you are self-treating, meditating or receiving Reiju empowerments. If you control your thoughts, all the Reiki energy can be used to benefit yourself and others. The more you practise the better and easier it becomes.
Meditations, Reiki symbols and breathing
During your Reiki meditations, you breathe and focus on your Tanden. This is a way of bringing about mindfulness and being in the present moment.
Using the Reiki symbols and chanting or toning again helps to focus your mind and be in the present, providing you with a clear and strong channel for the Reiki energy.
Just for today…..
The Reiki Precepts are a reminder and a foundation of how to live your life on a daily basis. They call for focus, peace and calm within you, to make your Reiki strong. To be in a mindful place, work on the precepts daily together with regular Reiju empowerments, energy exercises and self-healing.
Always enjoy being in the moment, living in the present.
