Relaxation can provide the connection between mind and body. Through relaxation you can achieve a peaceful state in your mind and this will help to create a relaxed body, allowing you to be free of any pain or discomfort.
Inhaling is linked to the sympathetic nervous system which controls the flight or fight response. Exhaling is linked to the parasympathetic nervous system which influences the body’s ability to relax and calm down. When we are stressed or anxious, we tend to shallow breathe and when we shallow breathe it can cause stress.
