Hormonal changes can lead to feelings of fear and worry about what the future holds or regrets about what has not been achieved before the ‘change of life’.
But the menopause can also be a time of personal reflection, looking back at everything that has been accomplished. To acknowledge how wonderful it is to have come this far and to be amazed at the amount of wisdom that has been gained over the years.
There are many menopause related symptoms, some of common ones are listed below:
- Hot flushes
- Cold flushes
- Night sweats
- Mood swings
- Irritability
- Emotional outbursts
- Weight gain
- Loss of confidence
- Short term memory loss
- Fatigue
- Anxiety
- Headaches
- Bloated stomach, ankles
- Depression
- Hair loss or thinning
- Burning tongue
- Metallic taste in the mouth
- Softer fingernails

Food and Menopause
In the early days of experiencing menopausal symptoms it is helpful to write a food diary to note the foods that might trigger some of the symptoms. For example spicy foods and red wine contributing to hot flushes.
Reiki for Menopausal Symptoms
I have treated many ladies with Reiki to help them relax and cope better with their symptoms. Reiki assists in calming the mind, helping to remove old habits and providing a deeper sense of self-awareness.

At Reiki First Degree level simply tune into Reiki and give healing to the appropriate Chakra’s.
At Reiki Second Degree level use either CKR for the physical symptoms or SHK for the emotional symptoms.
At Master level intuit where you need to treat and the symbols you need to use.
Crown Chakra
Using Reiki at the Crown Chakra will help with emotions and headaches.
Third Eye Chakra
To assist with sleep and bring about more positive thinking.
Throat Chakra
Reiki at the Throat Chakra to rebalance the thyroid gland which affects the metabolism, appetite and body temperature.
Heart Chakra
Reiki on the chest and the Heart Chakra to ease emotional issues
Solar Plexus Chakra
Reiki on the Solar Plexus to assist with emotional and digestive problems. It can also help with issues around self-confidence.
Sacral Chakra
To help with the physical hormonal changes and the emotions.
Root Chakra
To ground the client and connect them to the Earth and those around them.
